Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2026
This policy explains what information Consilium Law LLC collects through the consilium.law website, how that information is used, and who processes it on behalf of the firm. It applies to the public-facing website. It does not address information shared with the firm inside an attorney-client relationship, which is governed by the applicable rules of professional conduct in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Information We Collect
The firm collects information you submit through forms on the site and a limited set of technical information that any web server records when a page is requested. The categories are described below.
Contact Form Submissions
When you submit the contact form on the site, the firm collects the fields you provide:
- Full name
- Email address
- Company or organization
- Role at that company or organization
- Inquiry types you selected
- Industry
- Stage
- The message you wrote
- Referral source, if you provided one
Contact form submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database operated by the firm and may be delivered to the firm by email through Resend, the transactional email service used by the site. If your submission passes basic validation, the site also sends a short acknowledgment to the email address you provided so you have a record that the inquiry was received. That acknowledgment is neutral, does not contain legal advice, and does not form an attorney-client relationship.
Newsletter Subscriptions
If you subscribe to SparkPoint Briefings or another newsletter on the site, the firm collects your email address and the basic subscription metadata needed to send the newsletter, including subscription date and unsubscribe state. Newsletter messages include an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time by following that link.
Website Analytics
The site is not currently configured with third-party analytics, ad networks, or cross-site tracking pixels. The firm may add a privacy-respecting analytics tool in the future to understand aggregate, anonymized usage of the site. If that changes, this policy will be updated to identify the tool and what it collects.
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes standard request logs (including IP address, user agent, timestamp, and request path) for security and operational purposes. The site uses Cloudflare Turnstile on forms to help prevent spam and automated abuse. Turnstile may evaluate signals about your browser and session to determine whether a submission is from a human.
How We Use Information
The firm uses information collected through the site to:
- Respond to inquiries and evaluate whether the firm can help with a matter
- Run conflict checks before any engagement
- Send newsletters to subscribers who have opted in
- Operate, secure, and improve the site
- Maintain business records and comply with legal obligations
Service Providers
A small number of service providers process information on the firm's behalf to operate the site:
- Cloudflare hosts the site (Cloudflare Pages), stores form submissions (Cloudflare D1), and provides bot mitigation (Cloudflare Turnstile) and security and request logging.
- Resend delivers transactional email, including the firm notification when you submit a contact form and the acknowledgment sent back to you.
The firm does not sell, rent, or trade personal information collected through the site. Information may be disclosed where required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the firm's rights or the safety of others.
Data Retention
Contact form submissions and newsletter records are retained for as long as needed to respond to the inquiry, maintain business records, comply with legal obligations, and protect the firm. Newsletter subscriber records are retained until the subscriber unsubscribes, and unsubscribed records are kept long enough to honor the unsubscribe and meet recordkeeping requirements.
Security
The firm uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information collected through the site, including transport encryption (HTTPS), access controls on the underlying systems, and the bot mitigation described above. No transmission or storage system is perfectly secure, and the firm cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorization.
Your Choices
You can decide whether to submit a form on the site and what information to include in your message. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter at any time using the link in the message. To ask about, correct, or delete information the firm holds about you that was collected through the site, contact the firm at the address below. The firm will respond to reasonable requests, subject to its recordkeeping and professional conduct obligations.
Children's Privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13. The firm does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the site, contact the firm and the firm will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the site, the firm's practices, or applicable law. Updates are reflected by changing the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
